Patient Rights in Georgia
In Georgia, patient rights are recognized and regulated under the Constitution of Georgia, international agreements, and local legislation.
Ensuring safe, effective, and comfortable rehabilitation services is the primary goal of our clinic’s team, achieved in collaboration with our service users. Effective cooperation is founded on a mutual understanding of the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
At our rehabilitation clinic, your rights as a patient include:
Access to Quality Rehabilitation Services
We are committed to providing you with safe, effective, and qualified services that meet nationally recognized and implemented standards.
Non-Discriminatory Services
We respect your dignity, traditions, beliefs, and values.
Personalized Services
You have the right to receive rehabilitation services tailored to your or your ward’s needs. We focus on delivering patient-centered and flexible services.
Access to Information
You have the right to timely and comprehensible information about your or your ward’s health status, treatment plans, the benefits and efficiency of proposed services, associated risks, and alternatives.
You may request a copy of any part of your medical records in writing.
Consent, Refusal, or Termination of Services
Rehabilitation begins with your informed consent.
Based on comprehensive information, you may consent to or refuse rehabilitation services or terminate ongoing services, understanding the potential consequences.
You have the right to actively participate in health-related decisions and rehabilitation planning, alongside the team and, if desired, with the presence of a relative or support person.
Choice Regarding Educational Activities
As our clinic is a teaching institution, educating rehabilitation specialists is part of our mission, including practical training.
You may refuse to have your treatment process included in training activities. For children under 16, consent or refusal is provided by their legal representative.
Free Choice of Service Provider
You have the right to request information and freely choose a service provider, consult another specialist, or seek a second opinion regarding your health and rehabilitation.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Your personal information, including health-related details, is confidential.
Information about you or your ward is accessible only to those directly involved in your care and may be shared with third parties only with your consent or as required by law.
Respect for Your Time
You have the right to receive timely services based on a predetermined schedule. You may request information about waiting lists while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
Expression of Dissatisfaction and Complaints
You may express dissatisfaction or file a complaint about any aspect of services if you believe your or your ward’s rights have been violated. This will not affect the quality of care provided.
